EUSS support for vulnerable EU27 citizens in the Lothians

Feniks EU PartnershipWe are happy to announce a new partnership between our EU Citizens’ Rights Project and Feniks Counselling, Personal Development and Support Services Ltd. Together we have received funds to support members of the EU27 community in the Lothians.

Our new support service will help EU27 citizens at risk of not applying for the new “settled status” under the EU settlement scheme. Our project will benefit predominantly, but not exclusively, Polish nationals in Edinburgh and the Lothians, starting with eligible Feniks clients. We hope to help EU27 citizens in the Lothians fulfil new immigration requirements and stay in the UK.

We will provide two types of services: free one-to-one registration sessions for the EU27 citizens; and awareness-raising events with help of employers wishing to proactively support their EU27 staff. If you are an employer in the Lothians and you are interested in booking one of our free awareness-raising sessions about the #EUSS scheme, please get in touch with dorota.peszkowska@feniks.org.uk.

The free one-to-one sessions offered with Feniks for the EU27 citizens will include digital and language support in Polish and English delivered by a qualified adviser. Our partner Feniks is currently in the process of applying for an OISC (Office of the Immigration Services Commissioner) certificate to ensure the highest quality of our service. Feniks has over a decade of experience in helping excluded and isolated Central Eastern European EU citizens with poor mental health, substance misuse, survivors of domestic abuse, stay-at-home parents and older people to overcome barriers and integrate into the broader Scottish society.

The new service will be made available thanks to the EUSS grant funded by the Home Office. The Home Office has made available £9 million to 57 organisations across the UK to assist certain groups of EU27 citizens in the application process. More details about our new service will follow on the Feniks website soon.
