Monika first joined Citizens Rights Project as a volunteer to support EU migrants with accessing EU Settlement Scheme and now is a part of our team specialising in Welfare Rights .
Monika has educational background in legal studies, including Bachelor of Laws in English Law (LLB Hons), Specialists Paralegal Qualification in Scottish Criminal Law and Graduated from The University of Aberdeen with Master of Laws (LLM).
Her practical experience in providing advice comes from various client-facing legal roles in both public and private sectors, including cross-jurisdiction legal issues, where she was assisting multiple clients including vulnerable individuals and families.
She is passionate about human rights and access to justice. Since 2021 she has been appointed as a Director and a board member of Citizens Advice Bureau in Scotland.
Additionally, Monika holds Level 1 accreditation from the Office of the Immigration Services Commissioner (OISC), which qualifies her to provide immigration support specifically related to the EU Settlement Scheme and has experience in providing immigration advice as a Citizens Advice adviser at OISC Level 1 for the past 9 years.
