EU Settlement Scheme statistics for Scotland

EU Settlement Scheme statistics for Scotland (figures until June 2020)

At the end of August, the Home Office has published new quarterly statistics of the EU Settlement Scheme showing a total number of 186 610 applications that has been received from Scotland with 175 340 of them being concluded (107 200 granted settled status; 65 860 pre-settled; 80 refused; 1 210 withdrawn or void; and 990 invalid applications).

We had a closer look at these statistics wondering what nationalities have submitted the most EUSS applications in Scotland and which local authorities have the largest number of applications. Then, we looked at the top 10 of these local authorities and checked which nationalities submitted the most applications in each of them.

Polish nationals are unsurprisingly number one in all 10 local authorities. Romanians appear in the top 5 in all 10 local authorities and take second place in half of them. Other nationalities that appear more often are Spanish, Italian, Lithuanian, Latvian, Bulgarian, and Hungarian which corresponds with the ‘top 10’ chart for entire Scotland.
